Role and purpose of Rinrinkan

Constructed in 1999 as a forestry exchange experience facility, the Hayashi Rin Hall was built on its current site after a series of twists and turns, with the understanding of the local community. From the outset, it was not used for its original purpose of forestry exchange but has been utilized by many as an accommodation facility with a panoramic view of the Northern Alps.

Initially, the operation was managed by the locals of the Tachiya district, but later it transitioned to a designated management system. Following an appeal from the previous manager, local representatives and the current designated manager took over the operation for 11 years, and in 2019, it was handed over to the second generation of designated managers and local representatives.

Now, it serves as a leading tourist hotel representing Ogawa Village, enjoying patronage from many repeat guests. In response to local demands, it also plays multiple roles beyond just accommodation, serving as a key facility for the Ogawa Village Tachiya district.

The current designated manager is responsible for revitalizing multiple aspects of Ogawa Village, including reviving traditional Kagura performances and personally funding the restoration of ancient paths. Moreover, to enhance the hotel's attractiveness and increase guest satisfaction, they have personally financed the installation of numerous facilities and expansions.

The hotel offers a Northern Alps live camera that streams the Nishikawa Sanzan (Mount Jii, Mount Kashimayari, and Mount Goryu) 24 hours a day, attracting a large number of viewers daily.
