Horikiri Pass : Wavy rocks leading to the coastline and a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean.

"Horikiri Pass" is a sightseeing spot in Miyazaki City, Miyazaki Prefecture. It is located 7km south of Miyazaki Airport, about 20 minutes by car, and offers a spectacular view of tropical phoenix trees, the blue sea and the blue sky.

The area offers a view like no other, with the so-called 'devil's washboard', which was designated a national natural monument in 1934, and the beautiful Pacific Ocean. The cherry blossom trees lining the sides of the pass and the spectacular view that awaits you as you ascend the pass are sure to impress.

About 1km south of Horikiri Pass, Roadside Station Phoenix is a place to enjoy a meal and buy souvenirs. Tasting the famous 'mango-flavoured' and 'shrimp-flavoured' soft-serve ice cream is also recommended.
