Ibusuki Onsen : Beautiful hot spring resort with sand baths

Ibusuki Onsen' is a tourist resort located in southern Kagoshima Prefecture. Phoenixes and palm trees along the coast create a tropical mood. Blessed with an abundance of hot water, there are said to be some 800 sources gushing out from all parts of the city.

The famous 'natural sand bath' is a unique bathing method where visitors cover themselves in sand on the beach. The spring water is sodium chloride spring water, which is popular among women for its effectiveness against neuralgia and muscular pain, as well as for its esthetic effects.

Ibusuki is blessed with a wealth of seafood and mountain produce, and in addition to local gourmet specialities such as 'Ontamaran-don' and 'Katsubushi Ramen', you can also enjoy sweets made from Japanese sole, which is the largest producer in Japan.

There are also many places of interest, such as Mt Kaimondake, Lake Ikeda and other scenic spots, as well as power spots for matchmaking, such as Chiririn Road and Ryugu Shrine.
