Nanzoin : The temple houses a colossal bronze statue of Buddha reclining in nirvana, boasting the title of the world's largest of its kind.
Nanzoin is a temple located in Fukuoka Prefecture, serving as the head temple of the Shingon sect of Buddhism in the Shinroku Shikoku pilgrimage, one of the 88 sacred places.
Established in 1995, the Shaka Nehan-zo (Shakyamuni Nirvana Statue) stands at a colossal 41 meters in length, 11 meters in height, and weighing 300 tons, making it one of the world's largest bronze statues.
Thanks to the enthusiastic preaching of the head priest and the dedication of the local community, it is now considered one of Japan's Three Great New Shikoku Pilgrimages.
The spacious grounds offer numerous attractions, making it a spot where visitors may want to take their time exploring.
Consisting of a main hall and a Daishi hall, the temple also features the Fudo waterfall, with a drop of 7 meters, serving as a place for spiritual training.
The head priest here is famous for winning a large sum in the lottery and donating much of the prize money to welfare projects.
