This area features a grassy square, unique play areas, and Katsuyama Park, which houses the Kitakyushu Municipal Museum of Literature.

Katsuyama Park is home to the reconstructed 17th-century Kokura Castle, surrounded by gardens and a museum (Matsumoto Seicho Memorial Museum).
