Itoshima : A fashionable island with beautiful sea and rich nature

Itoshima City is located in the westernmost part of Fukuoka Prefecture. To the north, a beautiful coastline facing the Genkainada Sea spreads out, to the south are a series of mountains in the backfuri mountain range, and in the middle of these mountains is a gently sloping countryside called the Itoshima Plain, where many scenic spots can be seen.

It is very convenient to get to Fukuoka city centre (Tenjin, Hakata and Fukuoka Airport) by train and is popular as a town to live in and a leisure spot to visit. The seaside area is dotted with fashionable cafés and restaurants, where you can enjoy a wide variety of delicious food. Many artists have their own kilns, furniture studios and craft galleries, where you can see and buy original, one-of-a-kind works of art.
