"Discover the Enchanting Wilderness of Yakushima: A World Heritage Island Adventure"

Yakushima is an island located in the East China Sea, about 65 km south of the Kagoshima Prefecture mainland in Japan. Approximately 20% of the island, covering 10,747 hectares, is registered as a World Natural Heritage site. The island is famous for the "Jomon Sugi," a gigantic Yakusugi cedar tree with a height of 25.3 meters and a girth of 16.4 meters at breast height. This tree is estimated to be around 7,200 years old. Its uneven surface and multiple burls narrate its long survival in the harsh natural environment. Furthermore, Yakushima, with its mountainous terrain and rainfall-rich land, is known for its diverse flora and fauna, offering a rich natural experience. It's a perfect destination for a variety of activities such as hiking, mountain climbing, marine sports, and also offers hot springs, waterfalls, and beautiful coastlines for leisure.
