Ikoma kougen : One of the best places for flowers in Kyushu

See this content in the original post

Ikoma kougen (plateau) is one of Miyazaki Prefecture's most popular places for flowers. It covers an area of 90,000 square metres with the majestic Kirishima mountain range in the background. A variety of events are held in conjunction with the blooming of the flowers, making it a popular spot that attracts many tourists from far and wide.

From mid-April, around 150,000 California and Icelandic poppies can be enjoyed, hydrangeas in June, and from mid-September, the lovely red coloured kochia with their fuzzy shapes. Several viewpoints in the park are perfect for taking photos.

There is also a café serving speciality coffee, where you can take a rest and enjoy a leisurely stroll. The popular Ikoma Plateau thick soft-serve ice cream is also recommended.

ASA offers tours of Kyushu's famous places of interest, including the Ikoma Plateau, as well as experiences in hidden places known only to the Japanese. Please feel free to contact us with any inquiries.
