Japan has long possessed advanced techniques in dyeing. While many traditions have been passed down to the present day, one particularly famous method is Akane-zome, known for its beautiful hues and rich history.

To achieve Akane-zome, dried Akane roots are boiled in water, filtered, and then fabrics are immersed. In about 20 to 30 minutes, the fabric takes on the distinctive Akane color. Unlike chemical dyes, Akane-zome provides a warmth and softness that cannot be replicated, bringing out femininity and imparting a unique texture.
